About Us
Sihanoukville Tours and Accommodation Booking Service is managed and run by WHL Cambodia in collaboration with the worldhotel-link.com network of locally owned hotel e-marketplaces. Our goal of providing an easy and reliable resource for travellers to book tours and accommodation through the Sihanoukville portal is in line with Cambodia Hotel Association's (CHA) overall aim to secure the future of the tourism industry in the Sihanoukville region.
The Sihanoukville team is managed by Thomas Holdo Hansen and his sister Kristin from Norway, together with Ny Sandayvy 'Dayvy' , Som Sokha and Chea Som An from Cambodia.
Both Thomas and Kristin have a long and varied background within the tourism and hospitality sector from their studies and work around the world. They both came to Cambodia shortly after the country came to peace and the borders once again opened in 1998, they liked the place so much they decided to stay. The more time they spent in Siem Reap, their liking for the country grew stronger and stronger; the atmosphere, the culture, the food, the climate, and, not least, the friendly and welcoming people.
Kristin and Thomas took part in setting up Earthwalkers Guesthouse in Siem Reap through their passion in the sustainable development of Cambodia. Giving something back to the local community has always been one of Earthwalkers core values and through the work in the guesthouse, Kristin and Thomas was part of initiating Earthwalkers Fund (EWF) which involves travellers in making a connection with the community and making a big difference, albeit in a small way.
Earthwalkers Fund Cambodia is a non-governmental, non-political fund established to promote education, health, development and peace. Earthwalkers Fund is registered in Norway, with the vision to improve the overall quality of life and future of underprivileged Cambodian people by providing assistance in general areas. This includes general education, tourism & hospitality training, health care as well as sports & physical education.
The Fund supports existing projects promoting similar values, as well as developing new projects. EWF places focus on providing funding for theoretical and practical education (training) for children and young adults in order to facilitate knowledge and skills to secure their own future, which in turn will contribute to the development of the local community in terms of competency and valuable sustainable life skills.
When hearing about WHL and the commitment to "caring for the destination" and "sustainable development" it was seen as a great business opportunity for Earthwalkers Fund Cambodia and exactly what is needed in a destination like Cambodia, that is developing so rapidly that changes can be noticed daily.
